**UPDATE ON OPERATIONS OF THE PORTSMOUTH MUSEUMS REGARDING THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS**
Out of an abundance of caution and due to novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), all City of Portsmouth’s Department of Museums (including the Children’s Museum of Virginia, the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center, the Lightship Portsmouth Museum, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum, and the Portsmouth Colored Community Library Museum) are closed to the general public. Please be advised that despite media reports of museum openings in the Commonwealth, all Portsmouth Museums will remain closed until further notice.
