Museum Day
October 6 - 10:00 am-4:00 pm

The Department of Museums and the Olde Towne Business Association presents the 2nd Museum: Showcasing the Portsmouth Cultural Arts District. This event offers trains, history and art, musical performances, churches, museums and more. Come joint us and visit the Lightship Portsmouth Museum and learn how these ‘floating lighthouses" helped mariners find their way and kept them safe. From 10 am-noon, meet a retired lightship captain who will describe his experiences aboard a similar vessel. Throughout the day stop by the craft table where you can try your hand at making some maritime headgear.
